I am interested in the fine-tuning between physiology, as expressed by hormonal or haematological parameters, its behavioural aspects and the external modulation by the physical and social environment. I am implementing these topics by working with the long-lived and highly social Greylag goose (Anser anser) as well with the critically endangered Northern Bald Ibis (Geronticus eremita). Furthermore, thanks to the specific programme Sparkling Science I was challenged as a scientists by actively involving pupils and citizens in research.

Research interests:

physiological aspects of avian social life
social mechanisms
behavioural physiology and endocrinology
citizen science

Main Collaborations:

Dr. Claudia Wascher, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge (UK)
